The musician, composer, and sound artist Hans Schüttler from Stade created a sound installation together with European XFEL software developer Andreas Beckmann, that was presented during the guided tours through the accelerator tunnel the Hamburg Night of Science on 2 November 2013.
The original sounds, such as operating noise and recordings at the tube system were recorded in the tunnel. Hans Schüttler edited the original recordings in the studio and created a composition that was presented as a walk-in sound installation. Andreas Beckmann processed the sounds live during the event.
