The X-Ray Photon Diagnostics group consists currently of 7 staff members, 1 student, and the group leader:

- Wolfgang Freund: Undulator Commissioning Spectrometer, Diamond Detectors
- Andreas Koch: Invasive Diagnostics / Imagers
- Jia LIU: Temporal Photon Diagnostics
- Florian DIETRICH: Mechanical Engineer
- Naresh Kujala: Spectroscopy and Wavefront Sensing
- Theophilos Maltezopoulos: Scientist for gas-based diagnostics (XGM)
- Joakim Laksman: Scientist for gas-based diagnostics (PES)
- Tuba Çonka Yildiz: diamond detectors (DD)
- Randeer Gautam: Student
