The SCU-TAC shall, in particular, regularly provide recommendations on scientific and technical issues, such as:

expert advice to the research and development of superconducting undulator systems at the European XFEL facilities

expert advice to the build-up of development and testing capacities at DESY and European XFEL laboratories

expert advice to the implementation of a SCU afterburner at the SASE2 beamline
-
strategic advice concerning these developments to European XFEL management and to the relevant science committees; these are the European XFEL Machine Advisory Committees (MAC) and the Science Advisory Committee (SAC).
