Superconducting Undulators Technical Advisory Committee

The Superconducting Undulators Technical Advisory Committee (SCU-TAC) consults the Undulator Systems Group and reports to the Management of the European XFEL in matters of fundamental importance for the development and potential upgrades of the superconducting undulators.

The SCU-TAC shall, in particular, regularly provide recommendations on scientific and technical issues, such as:

  • expert advice to the research and development of superconducting undulator systems at the European XFEL facilities

  • expert advice to the build-up of development and testing capacities at DESY and European XFEL laboratories

  • expert advice to the implementation of a SCU afterburner at the SASE2 beamline

  • strategic advice concerning these developments to European XFEL management and to the relevant science committees; these are the European XFEL Machine Advisory Committees (MAC) and the Science Advisory Committee (SAC).
