Workshop "Theory meets XFELs", 2022

Date: 02 Nov. - 04 Nov. 2022
Location: European XFEL, Schenefeld / CFEL, DESY, Hamburg, Germany
Organizers: Nils Brouwer, Ruslan Kurta, Alexander Lichtenstein, Serguei Molodtsov, Beata Ziaja-Motyka

X-ray Free-Electron Lasers (XFELs) offer state-of-the-art capabilities for experimental research with X-rays. Modern theory and simulations play an essential role here as they are not only applied to explain the experimental observations but they are also instrumental to generate new ideas for designing new experiments. The Workshop “Theory meets XFELs” is dedicated to recent theoretical developments in the fields of “Ultrafast X-ray Diffraction and Imaging", “Ultrafast X-ray Spectroscopy”, “High Energy Density Physics”, “Ultrafast ARPES” and “Ultrafast Magnetism”, and is complemented with excellent examples of experimental applications of XFELs in these fields. The aim of the Workshop is to foster collaborations between theorists and experimentalists interested in research with XFELs.
