The Pinneberg based laser artist Florian Sieck was commissioned to perform a laser show with ambient music in the still empty warehouse as well as in one of the photon tunnels on the occasion of the start of the user operation on 1 September 2017. Guests were able to watch the shows as part of guided sightseeing tours.
In the warehouse building a scientific experiment was presented using 3D content and motion design, including free-electron and optical laser, sample chamber, diffraction patterns in the detector, and corresponding molecular changes as a result.
