XFEL: European XFEL bids farewell to Claudia Burger

In October, Administrative and Managing director Dr. Claudia Burger leaves European XFEL after almost six years. As head of administration she was in charge of finance, controlling, human resources, procurement, legal matters, knowledge management, and establishing the user office for the research facility. Furthermore she has been the director responsible for safety. “We are very grateful to Claudia Burger for her impressive achievements during the past years” said European XFEL Managing Director Prof. Robert Feidenhans’l. “Her extensive experience and knowledge was a great asset to the company and it has been a pleasure to work alongside her. We wish her all the best for the next step in her career.” Claudia Burger now heads the Directorate of Administration at the European Southern Observatory ESO in Garching, near Munich, Germany. Until a new Administrative Director takes office, Managing Director Robert Feidenhans’l will temporarily assume the corresponding responsibilities.
