The second workshop, entitled 'Towards a liquid jet standardization at EuXFEL', was held on the 1st and 2nd of December 2022 at CFEL, DESY Campus (Hamburg, Germany).
It was conducted in a hybrid format, with 155 registrants (53 in person). The workshop featured international experts as keynote and invited lecturers, who presented on the topics of "High repetition rate vs sample efficiency" and "Synergies between XFEL and synchrotron on liquid jets." This allowed participants to reinforce their collaborations and gain a comprehensive understanding of liquid injection techniques in the vicinity of FELs.
The standardization workshop also served as a forum for young scientists and students to present their research and engage with potential collaborators. In addition to the plenary lectures, four roundtable discussions were held, each focusing on a different type of injection device. One of the round tables was dedicated to flat sheet jets, which served as the impetus for the regular "flat sheet jets meeting," which aims to facilitate the collaboration of the Flat Sheet Jets community. Additionally, a guided tour of the EuXFEL user facility was made available.
In the context of the Standardization R&D project, a third workshop is scheduled to be held at the end of 2024. Further details will be made available on the website in due course.
