As soon as your children live in Germany the family is entitled to statutory children allowance (“Kindergeld”), which is a monthly net benefit of 250 € per child. Further reliefs exist in parental money (“Elterngeld”), parental leave (“Elternzeit”), and maternity allowance (“Mutterschaftsgeld”). The HR group will consult you in all these matters.

Fortunately, Hamburg offers a considerable number of bi- and multi-lingual facilities for children and adolescents. For non-local employees hired from outside Germany, we will consider carefully your needs and wishes and our relocation partner will provide her assistance not only in finding the appropriate school or kindergarten, but also in dealing with the administrative procedures. Additional individual tuition is supported up to an amount of roughly 1 600 € for each child.
