This week, Polish Consul General Pawel Jaworski informed himself about the research at the European XFEL. Poland has been a shareholder of the European XFEL from the very beginning. The country made important in-kind contributions to the facility. This included high order mode couplers and beam line absorbers, the tests of more than 800 cavities, 100 cryomodules, and superconducting magnets as well as the production of crates for programmable logic controller for six of the seven instruments.
The Polish Consul General was also delighted by the new science and experience centre Lighthouse, especially by the Xcool Lab, where school students of all countries can get a feeling of being a real scientist. Xcool Lab consists of two state-of-the-art laboratories for physics and molecular biology.
