Copy-editor/Technical writer (f/m)

The position

The suitable candidate will:

  • assist in the preparation and revision of all documentation for the European XFEL Council and its various committees, as well as internal documentation
  • prepare, revise and update internal forms
  • develop and maintain templates and stationery
  • assist with the development of a ‘European XFEL style guide’
  • assist with the development of a document management system

Depending on background and ability, the candidate may also:

  • copy-edit/edit and format technical documentation
  • copy-edit/edit and format scientific manuscripts

Requirements

  • at least 2 years experience in copy-editing and/or technical writing
  • excellent command of the English language (native-speaker level)
  • strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work
  • ability to work independently and to tight deadlines
  • university degree (e.g. English, communications, or natural sciences)
  • organizational skills, initiative and a proactive approach to tasks at hand
  • must have very strong working knowledge of all MS Office applications and Adobe Professional
