Copy-editor/Technical writer (f/m)
The position
The suitable candidate will:
- assist in the preparation and revision of all documentation for the European XFEL Council and its various committees, as well as internal documentation
- prepare, revise and update internal forms
- develop and maintain templates and stationery
- assist with the development of a ‘European XFEL style guide’
- assist with the development of a document management system
Depending on background and ability, the candidate may also:
- copy-edit/edit and format technical documentation
- copy-edit/edit and format scientific manuscripts
Requirements
- at least 2 years experience in copy-editing and/or technical writing
- excellent command of the English language (native-speaker level)
- strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work
- ability to work independently and to tight deadlines
- university degree (e.g. English, communications, or natural sciences)
- organizational skills, initiative and a proactive approach to tasks at hand
- must have very strong working knowledge of all MS Office applications and Adobe Professional
