Head of procurement (f/m)

The position

  • definition and introduction of the procurement strategy for a non-profit research organization with an annual buying volume of about 100 million EUR
  • specification of the procurement processes, tools and roles
  • analysis of relevant markets
  • identification of potential suppliers worldwide, considering technical and commercial aspects
  • performing complex bid invitations under the legal restrictions for public organizations, particularly VOB/VOL and EU regulations
  • negotiating contracts
  • dealing with complaints
  • leading a small department
  • reporting directly to the management board

Requirements

  • university degree, ideally commercial law, or comparable education and experience
  • several years of experience in public sector procurement
  • experience with foreign trade and payments law
  • experience with commercial customs and the UN convention on contracts for the international sale of goods
  • fluent in written and spoken German and English
